Cohasset Beach brings Northwest
contemporary design to the Washington Pacific coast. Cohasset Beach
is comprised of 63 individual home sites. The design of each oceanfront
home (13 models) was created by architects of the renowned
and award-winning firm of Johnston
Architects in Seattle. Each home is a work of art in itself,
fitting perfectly against the sandy dunes, grasses and shore pines.
Key exterior features of these homes are such
things as natural lighting achieved by open pllans with generous
use of glass, cedar siding exteriors with rain screen systems,
accent copper gutter with chain downspouts, custom electrical
package, custom interior finishes, open gas burning fireplaces,
ENERGY STAR lighting applianes and windows, vinyl clad windows
including full wood wrapped trim interiors, solid interior doors,
raised panel natural wood cabinetry, closet drawers, shelves
and rods, 30 year ribbed metal roofs with matching gutters and
copper accents, simple modern rooflines, and decks. Many options
are available.
Houses along the oceanfront are one story; those
placed in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rows are two or three story.
Each row, or tier, calls for a different
design in order to maximize the experience for the owner and minimize
the impact on the rest of the subdivision. Each tier offers several
choices: (Download the site map showing
house placement.) You can download a small file for each house:
Our team of owners, architect, and builders
made the decision to keep the houses to a small-to-medium-sized
square footage (ranging from 1400 to 2400 square feet.) The buildings
must not dominate the land but are designed to blend into the coastal
landscape. The best way to protect and conserve natural coastal
systems is to allow them full freedom to be dynamic. Nature is
given respect, not conquered. |
