Beaches, bay, wooded wetlands

Everywhere on the peninsula separating Grays Harbor from the Pacific Ocean, you are surrounded by nature at her most beautiful. On the ocean side, an 18 mile long beach, pristine and uninterrupted, provides for long walks and discovering shells on the sand.

This region of the Washington Coast is known as the Cranberry Coast. Cranberries are grown and processed here. Oysters are farmed. A winery was located here a few years ago.

Grays Harbor, a bay that stretches from Westport east to Aberdeen approximately 20 miles, is a well known North American flyway for migratory birds.

Natural preserves of trees and wetlands provide habitat to many small wild animals.
